Battery Element Testers Guidelines
Battery element testers are useful for checking the assembly level insulation damages in lead acid batteries along with defective and omitted separators. Spotting these types of faults well before charging and occupying the battery reduces the expensive renewals to a large extent. These faults were detected using the classical tests of AC electric; however this method creates harmful heat in the applications of wet cell. To eliminate this condition, modern battery element testers have been introduced that functions with a heavy voltage and in a short time interval to enhance the stress passing into the dielectric item and to reduce the median energy level at the same time. The main aim of this tester is to offer enough amount of stress to produce the flow of current even during the failure situations. Some of the models of these testers include Model 1652, Model 1653 etc. Model no 1652 has an input voltage of about 115 volts and an output voltage of about 400-3000 Volts DC. Its measurements are 16*5*13.5 inches and its shipping weight is about 28 lbs. Its terminations include two heavy voltage sockets. The optimal level of acceptable cell res. usually ranges from hundred to two hundred and fifty ohms. Model No: 1653 has an input voltage of about two hundred and twenty volts and an output voltage of about 400 to 3000 volts DC peak. Its output voltage level and the optimum level of acceptable cell res. are the same. The termination of this model is 100 or 250 ohms. Its shipping weight is about twenty nine pounds.
